Úštěk dye-works is under a roof again
The centuries-old Úštěk dye-works has once again become a prominent landmark in the town. Its high roof has been restored to its original size and covered with shingles. A gallery once again adorns one of the walls. In April, on the occasion of International Day of Monuments and Sites, the first official tours of the dye-works were held with support from the municipality. Besides the dye-works, there are many places to see and visit in and around Úštěk. Restoration of the dye-works is continuing, with significant financial support from the Ústí nad Labem Region and the Ministry of Culture. There is a good chance that you will meet the owners on site. They will be happy to give you a tour of the dye-works and help you learn more about the building. You can listen to an interview with the owners on Noční Mikrofórum (in Czech). This year, the windows and ceilings on the first floor are scheduled to be renovated. If you would like to contribute to the restoration of this historical building, please send donation to the following transparent bank account: No. 4799380013/0800 (CZ10 0800 0000 0047 9938 0013).
