Reconstruction of the Chinese Pavilion in the Podzámecká Garden continues
This year, the long-delayed reconstruction of the pavilion, which cost more than CZK 2 million, finally got underway, which the Czech National Trust has been supporting with a public collection for a long time. The reconstruction is largely financed by a grant from the Zlín Region, the Archbishopric of Olomouc and part of the costs are also covered by the Administration of the Archbishop’s Castle and Gardens in Kroměříž.

The public collection for this monument is organised by the Czech National Trust in cooperation with the Administration of the Archbishop’s Castle and Gardens in Kroměříž, z.ú. 270472892 / 0300. The collection is still ongoing, the target amount was set at CZK 200 000 and almost CZK 60 000 has already been collected.
While carrying out restoration work on the pavilion’s ceilings, rare fragments of original prints and paintings were discovered. Our aim is to restore them and to bring back the original colourful appearance of this unique monument. However, this is extra work in the amount of CZK 200,000, which could not be calculated and for which there is no financial cover at the moment.
The Chinese Pavilion is a 19th century monument, the exact year of construction of which is unknown. It continues the tradition of buildings inspired by Chinese culture, which dates back to the 18th century. It is unique among buildings of its kind in many respects. The integrity, the originality of the design, the preserved purity of the scenery.
We are hereby appealing to you for a donation to complete the restoration of the Chinese Pavilion in the castle garden, including the restoration of its graphics and overall original colour scheme, to the above-mentioned transparent account at CSOB bank.
We sincerely thank you for your support!
